Wabanaki Studies Community Day

  • School Around Us 281 Log Cabin Road Arundel, ME, 04046 United States (map)

Meet: @ School Around Us

COST: $30 per child (adult participants are free)

(note: Adult accompaniment is required for non-enrolled learners)

We are privileged to honor and celebrate the history and culture of the Native Americans and Indigenous people through a Community Day focused on Wabanaki Studies. We'll gather together for an interactive look at Wabanaki culture through songs, drumming and language shared with us by Wabanaki educator Sandra Bassett. Sandra is Passamaquoddy, part of the Wabanaki Confederacy. She is excited to share her culture with us through these traditions as she believes that is where her culture lives. We'll also have time to experience some Wabanaki stories related to animals and spend time exploring our personal connections to animals.

What to Bring:  Bag lunch, snacks, water bottle, and appropriate clothing for the weather.
